International Sports Television Marketing Pty Ltd (ISTVM) is the marketing arm of International Sports Television Pte Ltd (ISTV) a private company, with offices in Sydney and Singapore. The organisation specialises in sports television broadcast rights consultancy, management and implementation. It has led the negotiations in some of the world's biggest sports television deals outside the US, including ICC Cricket (US$550m), SANZAR Rugby (more than US$850m), English Premier League football international rights and Italian Serie A football. ISTV currently provides advice to sporting federations and broadcasters, including the IOC, News Corporation, SANZAR, Football Federation of Australia, SBS Australia, Setanta Sports, Sky Italia, Sky New Zealand, Zee Sports India and Foxtel. ISTV was founded in 1996 by Ian Frykberg, formerly Director of Sport and Current Affairs for the Nine Network of Australia, Head of News and Sport for BSkyB, and CEO of CSI (now Octagon-CSI). The first soft drink can be traced back as far as the late 1700s when a young watchmaker, Jean Jacob Schweppe, was the first to perfect a process for manufacturing the world's first carbonated mineral water. It was a keen interest in science that led him to experiment with the art of infusing water with carbon dioxide.
Working from a Swiss lab in 1783, he patented his special process for carbonating water. This started the soft drink industry.
